Meet Finch
We are a company staffed with analytic thinkers – from former DoD and IC analysts to commercial data providers to PhD data scientists. Understanding massive, textual data sets – accurately and at scale – is in our DNA.
In fact, we were founded by former LexisNexis leaders and our products were first sold into the DoD more than 15 years ago. We hold multiple patents around our differentiated approach to understanding language and leveraging AI to do it.
Our company name is a blend of the words “find” and “search” because we help customers find insights in their data by searching it in entirely new ways.
Our Leadership Team
Steve Baldwin
Chairman & CEO
Steve Baldwin is the Chairman and CEO of Finch AI. He brings more than 40 years of experience in the federal and commercial technology markets, with the last 36 as a serial entrepreneur.
He has founded and led four IT services companies focused on federal and commercial markets, the largest with more than 1,600 employees and $1 billion in revenue. As CEO, Steve has overseen twelve M&A transactions, completed financing deals totaling over $300 million, and delivered combined equity returns exceeding $500 million.
Steve is a graduate of the University of Maryland and serves on several corporate and charitable boards.
Todd Lasseigne
Chief Operating Officer
Todd Lasseigne is the Chief Operating Officer of Finch AI, responsible for driving the company’s overall growth. He brings more than 25 years of experience in both commercial and federal application architecture delivery, with extensive management and leadership expertise.
Prior to Finch AI, Todd was a senior leader on the AWS National Security Team, where he managed a significant portion of the Human Systems business. In that role, he oversaw a comprehensive portfolio of some of the team’s largest customers and led one of the largest public sector programs. He also previously ran a successful consulting organization, helping customers merge technology with mission outcomes.
Todd is a graduate of James Madison University and holds a Master of Science degree from The George Washington University.
Scott Lightner
Chief Scientist
Scott Lightner is one of Finch AI’s original founders and today serves as Chief Scientist. He has led a team of data scientists and engineers who have secured more than 30 patents in natural language processing (NLP), data analytics, in-memory computing, and related fields.
Under his leadership, Finch AI has built three flagship products: Finch for Text®, a real-time NLP software-as-a-service platform; Finch Data as a Service (DaaS), which delivers curated, real-time data products; and Finch Analyst, which leverages generative AI to provide entity-driven insights and alerting.
Previously, Scott spent 12 years at LexisNexis as a technology leader, delivering data-intensive products for risk management. He earned his degree from Wright State University in Ohio.
