An AI company with 20 years
of intellectual property
Finch AI’s intellectual property journey stretches back to 2004 and includes 34 U.S and foreign patents focused on Entity and Feature Knowledge Discovery, Event Detection, In-Memory Database technology, and Next-Generation Search. Building on this foundation, Finch AI has been developing new analytics capabilities that leverage generative AI since 2017. With the advances made to Large Language Models in 2022, Finch AI was already positioned to build out its platform to pair generative AI with its entity-aware knowledge discovery techniques.

Finch’s decade-long journey to an AI company began with a focus on data normalization and tagging geo locations found within the data. We have been at the leading edge of AI from the start.
OUR HISTORY
Finch invested heavily in R&D related to all-text analytics and AI/ML built for the purpose of understanding and exploiting human language. By the end of this period, Finch filed and received issuance of 34 U.S. and foreign patents in the following areas: next-generation search, event detection, entity extraction, data compression and in-memory database technology. Its NLP enrichment service, Finch for Text, was released in December.
Finch R&D into generative AI and large language models began in earnest, and analytics and NLP features derived from AI were continually added into the Finch software pipeline.
Development of an end-user AI platform that would consume all of the Finch enrichments began. This new software product would allow analysts, teams, and organizations to derive higher-level analytic insights, delivering critical, decision-making capabilities at the speed of the mission.
Finch launched its AI-enabled, single-pane- of-glass, all-source intelligence monitoring platform, Finch Analyst.
The company launched several proofs of concept for the platform within the National Security community and codified the important role that AI has played within the product suite, rebranding as Finch AI.
