Finch Computing Releases Finch Data as a Service (DaaS)
- Published On:
Reston, VA – Finch Computing, maker of innovative entity intelligence software Finch for Text®, today announced the release of Finch Data as a Service (DaaS), a real-time, enriched feed of user-curated content based on keywords, entities and more. Leveraging the company’s natural language processing (NLP) expertise and proprietary approach to identifying and understanding entities in unstructured text, Finch DaaS helps government agencies, companies and organizations make better use of their informational assets.
“We’re extremely pleased to be able to offer Finch DaaS to our customers,” Finch Computing Chief Technology Officer Scott Lightner said. “Finch DaaS uses state of the art NLP, ML, AI and proprietary algorithms to extract, disambiguate and enrich entities. It also uses a context-based approach to understanding text to deliver key phrases and topics, so users can easily understand what a story is about and find mathematically similar content.”
FinchDaaS transcripts are improved from their raw-form state, which is what most commercially available solutions would provide. It fixes spacing issues that merge words, address capitalization issues that would affect extraction – e.g. “Case” as a last name versus simply the word “case.” FinchDaaS can remove ads as well as, as is the case in local news, the regular traffic, weather and local sports updates that are often not relevant and can affect the analytics.
Importantly, Finch DaaS can also be customized so that users receive a curated feed of only the content they want – from the sources, regions, or times of day, addressing certain topics or with certain entities. It is delivered to customers through a REST API.
